Inclusive Teaching

Inclusive teaching recognizes that it is not enough to have a diverse group of people learning together, but those often marginalized must be actively included and valued. Recognizing that inclusion is not always enough to address systemic issues in higher education, we also work to make learning spaces more equitable by addressing structural issues with systemic change.

Assessing Student Learning

Assessing Student Learning helps faculty gather meaningful evidence to understand and improve student learning. CETL offers resources for creating learning outcomes, designing assignments, providing feedback, and more, with examples from OU faculty. Whether you need quick tools or long-term strategies, our team is here to support your assessment goals.

Teaching and AI

Teaching and AI explores the opportunities and challenges AI tools bring to teaching and learning. CETL offers resources, examples, and strategies to help faculty make informed decisions about using—or not using—AI in their courses. Faculty can access workshops, guidance on use policies and authentic assessments, and materials to foster meaningful discussions with students about AI’s role in academic, community, and professional contexts.

Engaging Students in Learning

Engaging Students in Learning focuses on aligning faculty teaching strengths with dynamic, student-centered approaches that foster deeper learning. CETL provides resources on active learning techniques for all class formats, from lectures to labs, and highlights the Pedagogical Partners Program, which pairs students and faculty to enhance teaching practices through collaboration. Faculty can explore evidence-based strategies, examples from peers, and opportunities to partner with students in making learning more engaging and effective.
